AFTERMARKET OR OEM: If you're looking to improve visibility on your vehicle at night, you've probably found many options for LED upgrades. Most bulbs on the market are too big to install, don't work with the electrical system, and have no focus or hotspot in the beam pattern. Even if they come close on those aspects, they still aren't anything close to the quality you would find with factory-installed lighting. With the SL1 LED, Diode Dynamics set out to engineer a true OEM-grade solution. With its compact size, optically correct output, flow-simulated cooling, and boost-mode electrical circuit, our SL1 LED patented design is a properly-engineered solution that finally provides a true upgrade in performance, with high reliability: and it's tested and validated to meet those standards, just like OEM lighting.

COMPACT SIZE: Your order includes two bulbs, to replace the factory bulbs in your vehicle. The bulbs are compact in size, in a patented design that isn't much bigger than the original halogen bulb. The drivers are compact too! If you have a sealed lamp, they are designed to fit inside. The drivers and bulbs are tested to last over time, even when sealed inside.

STREET LEGAL OUTPUT: Don't be fooled by high lumen numbers. Your vehicle's lamps are designed as a system, to focus light. If the light source in that system is out of focus, it doesn't matter how bright it is. You won't have a focused hotspot of light to shine down the road, you'll just have more glare. To correct this, the SL1 LED bulb was engineered with advanced optical design software, which simulates each ray of light in a process known as "ray tracing." Using this tool, our engineers perfectly matched the filament location, allowing the SL1 LED to focus light just like your original bulb, preserving the focus and hotspot, with no added glare. This is a safe, functional output, in compliance with photometric standards.

TESTED TO PERFORM: We test the SL1 bulb in factory lamps, and measure the entire beam pattern using specialized equipment. It's an elaborate affair: a lamp is mounted to a computer-controlled rotating head called a goniometer. Light shines down a tunnel, where a sensor collects data as the light is rotated. The entire beam pattern is mapped, and we compare the total output to the original halogen. With proper optical engineering, testing, and validation in the application, we can assure correct optical performance.

STAYING COOL: You may have seen bulbs that use large straps for cooling, or big fans that just make noise. These bulbs still run hot, pushing the LEDs past their limits, resulting in degradation of output after a few months. When it comes to cooling, proper engineering is required to efficiently remove heat from the bulb. In the SL1, it comes together as a whole system that was extensively tested, with dozens of iterations to achieve the best cooling performance possible. It includes a direct-solder copper core board, thermal phase-change interface material, and thermally-modeled zinc casting get heat to the base, where base fins are designed for aerodynamic performance in conjunction with the flow rate and pressure of the Sunon bearingless microfan. The result is a highly-effective and reliable cooling system, keeping the bulb running at maximum potential.

FITMENT: With its patented design, the SL1 LED fits where other bulbs won't, without cutting or modification. There's no hanging metal straps, just a compact bulb that plugs right in, with an exclusive reinforced shroud to keep the heat off any other components or wiring. Only slightly larger than a standard halogen bulb, it fits behind dust caps and in tight spaces. The driver and bulb are tested to function when sealed inside - no worries about heat buildup! The base sizes on the bulb are also are keyed for exact applications, not one-size-fits-all, and the compact driver easily tucks away.

DRIVEN: Rather than a simple buck regulator found on other bulbs, the SL1 uses a unique boost-mode circuit, which prevents thermal imbalance in the LEDs over time - again, just like you would find in OEM LEDs. It also has transient protection for long life in automotive circuits. Diode Dynamics engineers also analyzed dozens of OEM electrical systems, and added current-monitoring circuitry to mimic the electrical characteristic of halogen bulbs, drastically reducing the need for CAN-BUS adapters (though they're still needed on some applications).

RELIABILITY: Every part of the SL1 LED was designed for reliability, from the custom wiring with strain reliefs and solderless terminals, to the exclusive zinc castings, to the reinforced high-temperature PP-GF plastics (the same used in halogen bulb bases). Each component was designed and tested, with dozens of variations of each component reviewed until we achieved the maximum performance possible. Finally, the SL1 was put through its paces in our environmental testing chambers - where the bulb successfully performed through dozens of thermal cycles, from -40 through 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185F). Whether you're in the Sahara or northern Canada, the SL1 will keep performing for years, and is backed by a three year warranty.

INSTALL: The Diode Dynamics SL1 LED Bulbs is designed to plug and play on all vehicles. Simply remove your stock bulbs, install our LED bulbs that fit the same way as OEM and plug the power wire to your stock harness. However, some newer vehicles may require additional parts to work properly. You can find these parts under LED Accessories.

APPLICATION: HID and LED lights are street legal for Fog Light use only in the USA. Since they are not compliant with DOT / NHTSA FMVSS108, they are not street legal for Headlights. However, they are legal as Forward Lighting for vehicles strictly limited to off-road use that do not have DOT registration. Keep in mind, this is not unique to the brands we sell here at Dynamic Appearance. It applies to all HID and LED lights from all other brands including models sold on Amazon and eBay.

Warranty Process

We want to keep the warranty process as simple as possible, so please follow the steps below.

Step #1: Please contact us first so we can help facilitate the warranty process. We will walk you through troubleshooting steps so we can determine which part is defective.

Step #2: Once we determine the problem, we will walk you through submitting it to us. Depending on the product we will require a photo of the defective part, require a video of the defective part not working, or require you to ship back the product. Some manufacturers require the part to be returned to them, others do not...so we follow their policy. If you need to ship the product back to us, you will be responsible for the shipping charges. We will cover the shipping charges when sending the product back to you.

Step #3: Once we receive the photo, video, or part back we will process the warranty. The replacement part will typically ship within 24 hours but could take up to 3 days depending on the part.

Exchange & Return Policy

When you buy something from Dynamic Appearance Inc., you agree to our policy about returns, exchanges and refunds as outlined below. Our goal is to help you get the right product the first time, so if you are unsure the product you're looking at is right for you, please contact us so we can help. However, if you received a product that is not going to work for you, you have the option of returning it for an exchange or refund. Our policy is outlined below but it all starts with you emailing us at Sales@DynamicAppearance.com to initiate the return. Keep in mind, this policy is for Online Orders only, if you made a purchase at one of our stores in Georgia, please contact the store directly since the store policy is different.

Exchange or Return Process

We accept returns for exchanges or refunds within 30 calendar days starting from the original purchase date. To be eligible, the product must be in "brand new, unaltered and unused condition" which means it needs to be in the exact same condition as you received it. If the product is heavily damaged, missing parts, or missing packaging then it is not eligible for an exchange or refund. If the return is granted, you have the option of exchanging the product or receiving a refund. If you want to exchange the product, you are responsible for paying the difference if the new product is more expensive or will receive a partial refund if the new product is less expensive. If you want a refund, we will process the refund within 24 hours of product inspection. If the product is in brand new condition, you will receive a refund minus a 10% restocking fee which covers our original processing and shipping costs. If the product shows signs of installation, you will receive a refund minus a 25% restocking fee since we will not be able to resell the product as brand new.

Step #1: Please contact us first so we can help facilitate the return process. We will email you a form that you can fill out and send back to us with the items you want to return. This form will tell us who the item(s) are from, what was wrong, and what you want us to do with them. If you don't send us the form, your return may take longer to process.

Step #2: Once we receive the form back, we will issue a RMA number which means your return is authorized. You can ship the product back to us via FedEx, UPS, or USPS to the address below. You are responsible for all return shipping fees, we do not cover that cost. Once you have the tracking number, please email it to us so we can track the return to speed up the process.

Step #3: When we receive the product, we will inspect it to ensure all parts were returned to us in brand new condition. If approved, we will process the return for an exchange or refund within 24 hours. Keep in mind, all refunds are subject to a 10% restocking fee that is deducted from the total amount. If the product shows any signs of installation, the restocking fee increases to 25% that is deducted from the total amount. In the event the product is heavily damaged, missing parts, or missing packaging, we will deny the return and ship the product back to you.

Refund Timeframe

Once we process the refund, you will receive a confirmation email. You should receive your refund within 3-14 days from the day we processed the refund. We have no control over the processing time, it is determined by our credit card processor or Paypal and your bank or credit card company. If you have not received your refund by the 15th day, please contact us so we can investigate.

Exchange & Return Exception

We accept returns for exchange or refund for most of the products on our website, however, this policy does have some exceptions. All vehicle-specific products are not eligible for return which includes all Headlights, Tail Lights, Fog Lights, Light Bars, Halo Rings, and DRL boards. In addition, all products from Baja Designs, KC HiLites, Truck-Light, and Vision X are also not eligible for return.

Shipping Policy

We offer free shipping anywhere in the United States excluding Alaska and Hawaii. We can ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada with an additional shipping fee.

We mainly ship through USPS Priority Mail which is generally a 1-3 day delivery timeframe from the time of purchase. Depending on the size and weight, we may elect to ship via Fedex or UPS.

We will email you a tracking number as soon as your order ships. You will be able to track it on our website along with going directly to Fedex, UPS, or USPS. Keep in mind, tracking information typically doesn't show in the online system until 24-48 hours after we printed the label. If you don't see any movement after 48 hours, please contact us so we can look into it.

Once your order has been handed to the forwarder, we are not responsible for any delays or delivery attempts. You will need to directly contact Fedex (1-800-463-3339), UPS (1-800-742-5877), or USPS (1-800-275-8777) to investigate.

In the event you added the wrong shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible. If we have already shipped the order, you will have to wait until we receive the order back before we can ship it to the correct address. You can also purchase the product again and we will refund once we receive the first order is received back.
